Lumped kinetic modelling of polyolefin pyrolysis: A non-isothermal method to estimate rate constants

The measurement of kinetic parameters in the pyrolysis polyolefins requires use a lumped model for predicting product distribution wax, oil and gas yields. A non-isothermal method was established, which sample is heated tube reactor to desired temperature at constant rate rise. This avoided error present heating up stage inherent any practical isothermal reaction proceeds significant extent before operating temperatures polyolefin are reached, results challenges when defining time. measurements were conducted between 450 550 °C polypropylene (PP) polyethylene (HDPE LDPE) lump yields non-linearly regressed achieve parameters. measured constants have same trend as those reported literature using method, but lower than values similar conditions. derived then validated by experimental data. calculated data generally agreement with established this work proves be much faster intrinsic high temperatures.
